At 10:00 AM on July 10, 2009, accompanied by Shenzhen governmental officals, the joint acceptance team from China State Council made the on-the-spot acceptance of Qianhaiwan Free Trade Port Area.

Accompanied by Mr. Chen Ying Chun, Deputy Mayor of Shenzhen City and Municipal Officials, Ms Lv Wei Hong, the Deputy General of Customs from Maritime Customs administration and Principals from Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Land and Resources, Ministry of Construction, Ministry of communications, Ministry of Commerce and other ministries inspected Qianhaiwan Free Trade Port in detail.
During the acceptance period, Mr. Yu Li Ming, the chief economist of China Merchants Group Limited; Mr. Liu Yun Shu, the deputy General Manager of China Merchants Holdings (International) Co., Ltd.; Mr. Yu Shi Xin, the General Manager of China Merchants Maritime Logistics Co., Ltd. and Mr. Qu Jian Dong, the Deputy General Manager of Chiwan Container Terminal (CCT) also in the action to guide the work.

Qianhaiwan Free Trade Port was approved by China State Council on October 18th, 2008. It covers 3.71 square kilometers and the occupies Chanwan Road from East; Pingnan Railway, Mawan Road and north of Mawan Power Station from South; Mawan Port from West and Xinghai Road from North. All the project includes three phase and the phase I involves two areas that they are China Merchants Maritime Logistics Park and berths 5#, 6#, 7# which managed by CCT. These two areas connect via electro-purse net and electro-customs supervision, besides, the entire process is efficiently controlled by electro-locking, GPS and data verification. The phase I will put into operation officially after the acceptance.
The whole acceptance completed around 11:00 AM after the Customs Inspection Center, depot, inspection and quarantine area, MCT and electro-purse net were checked.
Qianhaiwan Free Trade Port Area integrates bonded zone, bonded logistics park, export processing zones and other preferential policies. Besides, it also has functions of port, logistics, processing, display and business of international transshipment, international distribution, international purchasing, entrepot trade, commodity display, port operation, preserving test as well.
Up to now, Qianhaiwan Free Trade Port has the most preferential policies. It is a new free trade port mode that is geared to international standards which has the possibility to become the development power of Shenzhen western ports and even Shenzhen.
