Western Shenzhen Port (Shekou Container Terminals and Chiwan Container Terminal) (SCT and CCT) was pleased to announce the establishment of its Dongguan Outside Depot , which successfully extended its service network to Dongguan. The depot, located next to manufacturers in Dongguan as well as Western Perl River Delta Region, is convenient for manufacturers to pick up empty for export via SCT/CCT.. Compared to existing empty pick-up at Shenzhen, this new service will effectively reduce cost of haulage from factory to gateway, shorten the transportation time and distance which greatly reduces emission of Co2, conducive to environment protection
The outside depot jointly launched by SCT, CCT and DOCC (Dongguan Orient Container Co. Ltd,) , strategically located in Shatian of Dongguan, is so far the only container yard in Dongguan. Occupies an area of 26,000 m2, it provides ceaseless container pick-up and repair services. The establishment of outside depot in Dongguan embodies the expansion of Western Shenzhen Port service network. So far, Western port have been operating outside depots smoothly in Shunde, Siu Lam of Zhongshan, WaiNao of Zhongshan and Dongguan, created “Hinterland Port” and expanded the impact of western Shenzhen port in cargo hinterland.
At present, SCT and CCT utilized the mature transportation network of waterways, railways and road of Western Shenzhen port, extended terminals service to major ports, inland hubs, and railway stations in southern China, actualized information docking, and took initiatives to establish a “Integrated Terminal Model”, thus give strong impetus to the sustainable development of western port.
