On 18th January, the first batch of 4x40 TEU containers were sent to Shekou after loading at Shaoguan yard and exported via western Shenzhen port the next day, marking the official opening of the railway transport services between Shekou and Shaoguan.
The container trains from Shaoguan to the Shekou run Monday to Saturday on a daily basis with a running time of 24 hours. The stable and safe rail transport service provided more options for local cargo owners.
So far the sea-rail network of Western Shen port has covered Changsha, Zhuzhou, Liling, Shaoguan, Kunming and Nanchang, which became a green, convenient and economical channel for hinterland cargoes.
