China Merchants Western Shenzhen Port Peak Season Seminar held

Aiming at keeping the smooth and efficient service during the upcoming peak season, China Merchants Western Shenzhen Port Peak Season Seminar was held on June 29th 2012. Nearly 100 representatives from liners and shipping agencies attended the seminar.

CCT/SCT updated the attendees with the latest development in facilities, barge networks, sea-rail intermodal transportation, port logistics as well as future planning. Highlights of CCT #13 berth coastline extension, SCT dedicated feeder berths, as well as flyover connecting CCT and SCT to be enabled in 2013, draw the close attention of the guests.
SCT Managing Director Erik Yim made in-depth analysis on the current market situation, future challenge and opportunities of the logistics chain. He said in his speech that with the re-engineering of product logistics chain word wide, China Merchants Western Shenzhen Port’ advantages will become more prominent, in the aspect of its powerful route network in Southeast Asia and Free Trade Port functions, which will help customers form a more efficient logistics model.
 
The issue of Customs environment is another key point of the seminar. Shekou Customs Deputy Director General Zhang Zhiqiang made speech and joined CCT/SCT in the Q&A section. Measures such as “7 days a week” customs clearance, “cross-terminal allocation” will further enhance the speed of Customs clearance and cargo circulation.
 
This seminar had served the target to enhance understanding during the peak season.
