On 12nd December 2012, CMHI Western Shenzhen Terminals (CCT/SCT) fully realized the automation of the container disinfection process, when 4 automated disinfecting gates in CCT and another 5 in SCT passed the ‘inspection and acceptance’ of Shenzhen Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau(CIQ) and Shekou CIQ. Together with the two automated disinfecting gates initiated in SCT on 9th Oct. 2010, CMHI Western Shenzhen Terminals (CCT/SCT) now is equipped with 11 automated disinfecting gates, which means Shekou CIQ intelligence disinfection system was successfully implemented and the realization of the overall automation of the container disinfection process.
This swift and effective system substantially improves the efficiency of container disinfection, taking now only 20 seconds to complete, in comparison of the previous 2 minutes by manual operation. Vehicles can finish the disinfection without getting stopped. Judge of ‘infected area’ and related check-out process are also consequently exempted due to 100% disinfecting process for all gate-out containers. With effective 24-hour tracking and real-time feedback equipment, the system will further optimize the customs environment of CMHI western Shenzhen ports.
