On 2007-11-28, a feeder laden by outbound Shenzhen customs-clearance cargoes shipped from Shunde Rongqi port to Shenzhen western port, this shipment symbolized that Chiwan Container Terminal (CCT) can operate the mode that outbound cargoes Shenzhen customs-clearance are shipped by feeder from Pearl River Delta region to CCT.
With the booming development of logistics in Shenzhen, trailer transportation can not meet the vast growing of port’s throughput. The more convenient and cost-effective common feeder services make port transportation more perfect. With the strong support from Shekou Customs, CCT succeeded in opening the new mode for outbound cargoes Shenzhen customs-clearance shipped by feeder from PRD to Shenzhen western port CCT and SCT. Under this mode of transportation, PRD cargoes can firstly be shipped by feeder to Shenzhen western port without doing the customs clearance, after arriving at Shenzhen port, the cargoes can be done the customs clearance in Shenzhen, and then be laden onto the mother vessel.
