In order to improve the environment of port customs clearance and provide a more effective and convenient inspection & quarantine service to customers, the initial practical operation project of inspection & quarantine declaration was approved after all-round debugging by Entry-Exit Inspection & Quarantine Chiwan office. The project covers part of the inspection & quarantine declaration affair functions and began to officially operate the inspection & quarantine affairs which ship via Chiwan container terminal since these days. The accepted inspection & quarantine declaration affair functions covers below operations:
1. Import container cargoes shipped via Chiwan container terminal. (Exclude vegetable, frozen meat, old machines and the cargoes which need inspection & quarantine certificate.)
2. Empty containers.
3. Cargoes which suits for load.
4. Cargoes which need to be exchanged the declaration form and verified at Chiwan office.
5. Documentation modifying.
Chiwan office adding the inspection & quarantine declaration affair function is of great importance for the port development. For the future, part of the cargoes shipped via Chiwan can directly be handled the inspection & quarantine declaration affair at Chiwan office and complete the document verification, charge billing & paying, customs clearance form printing, visaing and sealing. Customers do not need to go to inspection & quarantine office of Shekou Bureau at Qianhai Bay to operate the declaration.(the cargoes which need inspection & quarantine certificate still need to go to inspection & quarantine office of Shekou Bureau to operate the declaration.) This new deployment can greatly advance the speed of customs clearance.
